It would be great to see a built in Marine Traffic client in iKommunicate.
Taking the AIS data from the network and if an internet connection is present, submitting data to MT

I was trying to think of a way to do this, but believe it needs to be part of the firmware.

I hope others agree and would like to see this also.

    Hi SignalKaus,

This is relatively easy to do, as we already take AIS data on NMEA0183 or 2000 and can send it out via TCP or UDP. What we are missing is a means to manually enter the IP address and port that Marine Traffic allocate to a contributor and an efficient/smart way to confirm if there is an Internet connection.

Users will need to make sure that they don’t start sending this data over an expensive transport mechanism i.e. Satellite Broadband but it is definitely something I will add to our feature wish list.
    Best regards
