    Hi Paul,

Ok well I’ve collated some data for a few devices accessing the iKommunicate, either loading the home page or loading the admin login page.

Toshiba i5 running Windows 7 using Chrome : loading the admin login page from the home page took between 6.5sec and 12sec to load. (Resolving host was on the bottom of the screen while loading) This speed did not increase after loading multiple times.

iPad Air running iOS 10 and Safari : loading the home page via direct IP not hostname: I gave up waiting after 10+mins. It was still attempting when I stopped trying.

iPhone 5S running iOS10 and Chrome and Safari : loading the home page via direct IP : Again I gave up after 10+ mins of waiting.

Iceweasel browser built into the Raspberry Pi OS : loading the homepage via IP : It did finally load but was about 5mins to get there.

    Cheers
    Justin

Has anyone else experienced this slow load time on the new v2 SD card firmware? I was hoping Paul would have replied by now to this.

I think you will find that according to the Signal K spec the temperature values are in Kelvin.

    Hi All,

I updated mine to the new firmware which is connected on the boat to two NMEA0183 inputs, one high speed and one low speed, no N2K connection. Since the firmware upgrade the platform is still as stable as before and always accessible. I’ve also noticed that the new firmware has resolved some missing data that was not displayed on the iKompass display (but was present on the network). I have the unit connected to a Wi-Fi router with no internet access on the network.

Running the unit for at least 8 hours while out on the boat was flawless. I did note however that it seems for apps that use the TCP network connection rather than Signal K that the gateway only seems to transfer the high speed NMEA0183 data to the TCP connection, not both. I assume this will come in the future.

Otherwise, all is working very well.

    Hi Paul,
Thanks for the update. I don’t have a need for it via NMEA0183 yet, just getting familiar with the provided apps.

Is there a web page with the list of features that either are not included yet and will be and a timeline for these? It would be great for everyone to see what features are coming with planned release dates.

    Cheers

I’m told that future firmware revisions will allow upload of files to the SD card. I did suggest that some thumb screws on the 4 end screws for the end plate closest to the SD card be used instead of normal screws to make life easier to access on a regular basis, or at least during everyone’s testing phase.
